“The Reality Business first delivered a modular Management Development Programme for a group of middle to senior managers within Raymond Brown Ltd during 2011-12. Subsequently they have been retained to run a second, similar programme running from the end of 2012 through to 2014 for a second group of managers.
The concept of the programme was to take those managers that we have identified as having the talent to fill future succession and expansion needs within the business, and accelerate their development, whilst simultaneously providing them with the challenge of incepting some real business projects that will provide future success to the business. We have seen clear positive impact from this programme. A number of the first cohort have demonstrated clear growth and have been promoted within the business – not only has this demonstrated the value we place on growing our own talent, but it has saved costs of external recruitment.
We have also seen both groups identify opportunities for new business and/or improvements to the way we currently do things. Projects relating to a number of these ideas are now moving forward and should give some good ROI. The Reality Business have ensured they fully understand our business in order to provide the group(s) with be-spoke, relevant experiential learning from which they get real pragmatic tools and solutions they can use in the workplace. They have been innovative in their design and delivery, including devising and running some “edge of your seat” launch events that allowed for accelerated group understanding, as well as benefitting 2 local not-for-profit organisations.
Additionally at the end of the programme they provided each delegate with their own observances of strengths and weaknesses, and then with their permission shared those with myself and my Co-Directors – this information, as observed over 12-18 months by “external consultants” has provided us with invaluable information as to the talents and potential of our people. I would certainly recommend them to any business who is considering a similar investment in developing its key people.”
